After the strangest winter ever in Finland (no snow in the south! Never experienced that before) we are back in Ansouis. And what a welcome. The first two days temperatures rose to over 20 degrees in the afternoons, the sun was shining from the kind of clear blue skies one only gets in Provence, and we could have lunch with friends outside. Bliss!
Now the weather is changing to more ”normal” for this time of the year. There is mistral on its way, but that´s OK. We are well protected.
The almonds are already in full bloom, there are small violets in the grass and the birds are singing everywhere. Yesterday we saw the first geese on their way north – very early.
We´ve done something everyone has adviced against. We´ve started work on two new bathrooms for the house without being here ourselves. We were adviced not to buy a house, and we have always been adviced never to employ anyone in France to renovate anything in the house without being present yourself. Seems we like breaking the rules. Anyway, the bathrooms are not quite finished yet, but so far everything has gone according to plan. Except that everything will be a bit more expensive than planned, because this and that has been forgotten, etc. But even that is according to plan, and has nothing to do with us being here or in Finland. I´m hopeful….
