The time for harvest is here. Some of the vines have already been harvested, many are still waiting. Around the house all sorts of vines can be found – white grapes, vielles vignes, blue grapes. I still have no idea which of the grapes are which, but Africa seems to have clear preferences. She only eats some of the grapes, and although she chooses carefully, it promptly gets her a bad stomac!
Soon all the vines will turn red, yellow, orange – a real “ruska” a la Provence. And we will get our third version of autumn colours.
The weather has turned quite chilly after the nice warmth of the first week here. Night temperatures are now down to +6-7 degrees, days will not be more than +18-19, and the pool is down to +15 degrees.
As long as the sun comes out it is, however, very pleasant, so no complaints.
We’ve started our French lessons with Claudie. And we have watched French films, studied French, read books in French and even attended the yearly Albert Camus festival, “Rencontres Mediterranéennes Albert Camus” in Lourmarin. Not that neither of us understood very much of the learned discussion about ” Des Moralistes a la Philosophie et al la Philosophie Politique”, but at least we tried. The cultural programme continues today with a piano recital at the Chateau de Lourmarin.
